Our Story

Founded in the early 1990’s Waterford Press is a family-owned and operated independent publishing house. Its flagship business publication, dubbed Canterbury Business Monthly, was so successful it expanded across the nation and is now replaced by three regional Business newspapers, Business North, Central and South. At the same time, our three rural sector newspapers, NZ Dairy, Rural South and North have also grown to be well-respected publications across rural communities nationwide.

Storytelling is a powerful business tool; it’s what entices your consumers to buy your product or use your service.

At Waterford Press we can help you tell your businesses’ story, your news is our news, and we want the right people to know about it.

We know that SMEs play a vital role in New Zealand’s economy, employing more than 580,000 people throughout the country and contributing 28 percent or more of New Zealand’s GDP.

It’s the people, like you, behind these businesses that showcase what it means to be a hardworking Kiwi. Each and every one of you has a story to tell and Waterford Press has the means to tell it and the platform to share it.

To this day, Waterford Press continues to produce multiple newspapers throughout the country that capture the essence of business in New Zealand — the grit and determination behind the success.
