New show home proves an eye opener
The show home design walks the fine balance between contemporary and traditional with a light airy colour scheme accented by modern black and grey.

The new Versatile Homes & Buildings Tauranga show home has been an eye opener for many people who have visited it. “While many people are familiar with the smartly designed garages, carports, sleepouts and farm buildings that Versatile Homes & Buildings offers many do not realise we can also build new homes from entry level to very upmarket designer homes,” says Luanne Bettelheim who owns the Tauranga franchise with husband Garry.
The 240 square metre show home at 81 Te Ranga Memorial Drive, which opened late last year, boast four bedrooms, two bathrooms and two living areas.
The design walks the fine balance between contemporary and traditional with a light airy colour scheme accented by modern black and grey.
Luanne says the lodge theme of the design offers home buyers something different with Riverstone detailing on the outside and an outdoor fireplace made from Linea weatherboard.
The spec is high end and the home has been luxuriously fitted out with stand-alone bath, fully tiled bathroom and ensuite and high-end kitchen. It is the first show home for Versatile Tauranga and Luanne says reaction has been extremely positive.
“Visitors are surprised by how upmarket the show home is and have said it is refreshing to see something different that is still a timeless classic design,” she says.
Luanne and Garry bring a long history of development to the franchise, which they purchased over two years ago, attracted by the longevity and good reputation of Versatile in the market.
Both born and raised in Tauranga they have a passion for the region having seen its substantial growth over a number of years while operating in the building industry.
Garry holds a Bachelor of Management Studies from Waikato University and has vast experience working for multi-national corporations.
He also brings 25 years experience in the building industry operating his own residential building companies. Luanne has 25 years’ experience in a variety of sale roles and focuses on this key aspect of the business.
Versatile Homes & Buildings Tauranga offers a range of plans, can build from clients’ own plans or offer a complete design and build option.
A key point of difference is that Versatile Homes & Buildings Tauranga offers a complementary concept design – site plan, floor plan and elevation plan – free of charge.
The other clear advantage is that Versatile Homes & Buildings Tauranga can do the whole project for the client – home, garage, carport etc meaning that the client only has to deal with one company for their entire home build.
