Christchurch home building company Touchstone Homes is poised to open the doors on a stylish new show home at Falcons Landing, Rolleston in mid-April, in the subdivision’s new show home village.
This 216sqm home, located at 15 Falcon Rd, has been carefully designed to provide a perfect starting point for those thinking about putting down roots at Falcons Landing, close to Rolleston’s brand new high school, Foster Park reserve and the Selwyn Aquatic Centre.
Families seeking a spacious, easy lifestyle will be impressed with what Touchstone Homes has come up with.
Their new show home includes a large family/dining area and separate lounge, flowing seamlessly to the outdoor area enhanced by a patio beneath a distinctive portico. The kitchen includes a walk in pantry. “There are four double-bedrooms, with master boasting a generously sized walk in wardrobe and separate ensuite.
“A second bathroom and separate toilet is conveniently sited between two of the other bedrooms. High stud ceilings, generous garaging and smart exterior brick veneer cladding contribute to its attractiveness and appeal.
“It’s getting harder for families in Christchurch because they can’t get bigger sections in the city, but the good news is that there are full size sections and decent family homes available in places such as Rolleston,” observes Andrew O’Donoghue, who co-owns Touchstone Homes with partner Karen Pritchard.
While Touchstone Homes is a new name in the market, it’s actually just fresh new branding for a well-established business that previously traded as Strategic Homes.
Andrew, who founded the company, has a background in the mortgage industry. He started out dealing with clients wanting to build investment property.
Strategic Homes built more than 750 homes over the next 17 years. The new name reflects the company’s shift since the earthquakes towards helping people build their own homes.
Karen came on board in 2014, bringing with her a flair for interior design and a passion for working with people. “Part of the reason why we changed our focus is we got sick of hearing the nightmare stories out there,” Andrew says.
“We want to help improve the industry. We’re always upfront and honest with people; we provide accurate timeframes and clear pathways. Touchstone Homes is a name that reflects who we are and what we do: we build houses but we also build strong relationships with our customers, as well as our subcontractors and suppliers.”
As a result, Touchstone stands by its pledge to deliver consistent quality on every build, within consistent timeframes. Karen and Andrew work closely with people to make their home build journey as stress free as possible.
Touchstone Homes offers a range of house and land packages, as well as three and four bedroom plans. Their house-land packages are well-presented and realistically priced.
For example, one at Falcons Landing, priced at $557,500, is for a 203sqm four-bedroom, two living area home with double garage on a 608sqm section.
People planning a new home north of the city can visit Touchstone’s other new show home at Prestons Park in the show home village, 49 Prestons Park Drive, (open Wed-Sun, 12-4pm).
This exciting new subdivision, on TC1 land, is close to local golf courses, beaches, Bottle Lake Forest, The Palms and Northland Mall and has convenient road links to the central city and airport. “Our Prestons Park show home has been really well-received,” Andrew says.
“People like the level we have pitched it at and we see it as particularly appealing to people whose kids may have left home, but who are not yet ready for retirement. “It really shows off our attention to detail and build quality.”
