Two and a half years into their ownership of Totalspan Manawatu, Scott and Rachel Hockly are enjoying being part of a well known, trusted, and supportive brand.
“It’s a fantastic brand and one of the biggest things we’ve noticed in the past two and a half years is everyone knows it,” Scott says.
“They know Sam the dog, they know the jingle, and they know our franchise which was here for about 12 years before we took it over.”
Scott brings many years of civil construction industry experience to Totalspan Manawatu, and significant project management experience working for various construction companies on major infrastructure projects throughout New Zealand.
Totalspan Manawatu customers have the peace of mind their build is in capable and experienced hands with Scott, who prides himself on offering a quality product from concept to completion that meets individual requirements.
As a trained primary school teacher, Rachel complements Scott’s expert advice with a service full of understanding, honesty, and integrity.
Since Scott and Rachel have owned the business, Totalspan Manawatu has won the company’s lifestyle building of the year award in 2016, its rural building of the year award in 2017, and last year its took out sales excellence and local marketing excellence awards as well.
“One thing that’s come out of these awards and the way we run our business is we’re really focused on what our clients want, as opposed to what we think would be best for them,” Scott says.
“We can build to any size, to any budget, to suit any requirement, and at a timeframe to suit you.”
Scott sasy that Totalspan Manawatu’s experience in storage sheds has seen the company win a recent project at Shannon, building a commercial shed for a business called The Storage Room, providing individual storage units to their clients.
“They needed a building 48m long with 16 three metre wide bays, each with its own roller door.
“They came to us because we’d had experience with storage sheds and they hadn’t,” Scott says.
“We helped them out with ideas and suggestions for what they could do in terms of the design and size of each unit.”
Totalspan Manawatu understood its customer’s requirements and got on with the job.
Based on its reputation and for getting things off the ground smoothly in stage one, the client is now talking to Totalspan Manawatu about stage two, a similar storage shed but about twice the size.
“This building was 48m long, but we could go up to 150m, we just keep adding on to it,” Scott says.
“We build what people want, the only variables are cost and time.
“Anything is possible in engineering, but we keep things as standard as we can to save cost and time.”
Totalspan Manawatu builds a range of buildings from utility sheds and carports right up to large commercial buildings.
The company provides no obligation quotes with an in-site visit consultation.
Projects can be handled from start to completion, covering building consent, earthworks, concrete foundations, construction, and fit outs, or Totalspan Manawatu can provide a kit-set only option to experienced builders.
