Bespoke projects leading the way
Templeton Group recently completed the award-winning Chambers and Station project in Mt Eden.

Templeton Group, an Auckland based company, aims to deliver projects of international standard to the market, says company director Nigel McKenna.
A residential developer, Templeton Group focuses on bespoke design-led projects ranging from luxury homes to heritage restorations and modern inner city apartments to large land developments.
Nigel says a key factor in delivering top quality projects is to wait for the right site to become available. The company then works alongside innovative architects and experienced consultants to achieve top results to an international standard.
Nigel’s past experience also stands the company in good stead to deliver high end developments.
He has completed over 50 projects including the award-winning Lighter Quay, Quadrant Hotel, Beaumont Quarter and the Viaduct Harbour waterfront dining precinct featuring Soul Bar & Restaurant.
The company’s vision combined with Nigel’s experience has been a recipe for success and in the busy housing starved Auckland market the company has a multitude of projects on the go. N X N Apartments is due for completion late 2019 and is located in Kingsland.
With concept design by boutique architecture and design practice, A Studio Architects, and project architect Beca on board, the 78 spacious one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments of N X N have been designed for sophisticated living. N X N is being styled around an elegant shared urban plaza for residents to enjoy.
“The building has been designed to sit effortlessly into the natural slope of the site. This creates a building that is only three stories high from street level meaning views aren’t compromised in nearby buildings. NXN offers sophisticated, international styled living and will truly stand apart from the many run-of-the-mill apartment blocks,” says Nigel.
He says the apartments have proved popular with those seeking to downsize to those who live and work in the city.
Templeton Group recently completed an award winning project called Chambers and Station, which is situated in the Mt Eden Municipal Council Chambers building built pre-World War 1 in 1912 and the Mt Eden Fire Station built in 1925.

The N X N Apartments in Kingsland is due for completion late-2019 and will offer 78 apartments, ranging form one to three bedrooms..

The buildings are unique and the aim of the project was to convert them into six luxury apartments, reflecting their eras and styles and to last the next 100 years.
Nigel says that the design philosophy was to retain and enhance the original heritage values of the buildings despite the adaptations required for a drastically new use.
A new link was designed in structural glass and implemented using lightweight construction techniques in order to ensure that the heritage buildings remained dominant.
Numerous structural steel cross bracing diaphragms, ceiling diaphragms and floor diaphragms were installed in order to bring the original structure up to 100% seismic requirements while retaining the heritage facade.
The project took out top honours in the residential multi-unit category of the 2017 Property Council New Zealand Awards.
A current project that Templeton Group has underway is Bremner Ridge on Flat Bush School Road in South Auckland. The project will be released through a number of stages and will offer a range of different sized sections and houses.
Nigel says that the sections are aimed to appeal to owner-occupiers looking for a section to build their dream home. The elevated site offers sections with views that take in the surrounding areas, Ormiston and views of Auckland City.
With close proximity to Ormiston Town Centre, Westfi eld Manukau and Botany Town Centre, the area offers plenty of amenities.
