The new show home at 50 Magnolia Drive, New Plymouth, is clad in striking white brick, complemented by a dark roof pallet and joinery.

Fifteen years after establishing Signature Homes Taranaki, co-owner Dustine Palmer still carries the same energised enthusiasm toward providing her clients with the very best quality building experience.
Along with fellow owner and director Geoff Mockett, Dustine leads a busy and very productive Signature Homes franchise based in New Plymouth covering residential builds all over Taranaki.
“Taranaki has its own vibe and residential building remains very strong in the region. It isn’t impacted upon as much by what happens in the Auckland market than some other regions,” Dustine explains.
Looking back over the decade and a half since opening their doors Dustine can see the company has evolved, very much in response to a changing market and with the support of Signature Homes founders Gavin and Anita Hunt based in Auckland she feels the Taranaki company is poised to continue to grow well next year and beyond.
Dustine describes the culture Gavin and Anita founded as less corporate, more like a family, even though the company has owner-operated branches throughout the country.
She says their input has been integral to helping evolve that culture right from the word go.
“We’ve had a tremendous 2018, with a new show-home at 50 Magnolia Drive, New Plymouth, opened in October.
“It’s a variation on the Rosella plan in our Smart Homes range – a range of pre-priced homes designed with the budget of a first-home buyer in mind.”
The home is clad in striking white brick, complemented by a dark roof pallet and joinery.
The fourth bedroom on the Rosella plan has been replaced with a snug sitting/reading room, larger than a nook area.

The show home kitchen which features wood veneer really sets the home apart.

Dustine says it was the right decision to make, opening up the living spaces, yet offering flexibility.
It’s the kitchen though that really sets the home apart.
“For a budget conscious build this kitchen is just wonderful. When our designer suggested using a wood veneer I wasn’t initially sure, however the end product with the kitchen wrapped up in the material really makes a statement.”
Working with Geoff, who concentrates on sales while Dustine oversees the day-to-day as General Manager, is a team of a production manager and two project managers. All three have a building background.
Sitting at the heart of why Signature Homes Taranaki has continued to evolve so well is their commitment to the highest possible level of communication with clients, suppliers and their team of builders.
Dustine understands that each client comes towards a build with their own unique needs regarding communication, from being very constantly and closely involved in daily steps of the build to those clients who might be living some distance away who are happy with the weekly update.
“We have an inhouse policy to be in touch with clients at least weekly throughout the build process.
That’s the standard we have set and it works very well for us.”
Along with the Smart Homes range of plans, Signature Homes’ Pacific Collection offers a range of plans designed to maximise the liveability of the floor area while at the same time reducing cost and adding value
And while the busy summer season was fast-approaching Dustine says she, Geoff and the whole team are looking forward to 2019 with all it has to offer.
“We’re a very well established group housing company in Taranaki, offering a complete range of services from design and build to a wide selection of plans that can be adjusted to suit each specific site and budget.”
