Retire in style at Remuera’s Rawhiti Estate
Rawhiti Estate is located a stone’s throw from Remuera Road in one of Auckland’s most timeless suburbs.

BeGroup’s new Rawhiti Estate is bringing together the latest offering of both retirement living and aged care in Auckland’s Eastern Bays. On the site of the former Rawhiti Bowling Club, Rawhiti Estate is a stone’s throw from Remuera Road and its boutique shopping district.
Adding value to one of Auckland’s most timeless suburbs, Rawhiti Estate offers members the opportunity to retire in style with friends and family close by.
Rawhiti Estate is advanced in design and technology, and it blends seamlessly into the overall community,” says BeGroup managing director Guy Eady.
BeGroup has worked hard on the design of Rawhiti Estate to reduce the amount of corridors. “It is difficult to tell this is a health facility,” Guy says. “Our residents call Rawhiti Estate, and we have made it homely for them.”
Rawhiti Estate comprises 68 hospital, rest home, and memory loss care suites, as well as 27 independent living apartments, allowing Rawhiti community members to relax in the knowledge their health and welfare needs will be met.
The village is advanced in technology, with the Vocera system, an enterprise grade healthcare communication platform which instantly connects care teams.
“Vocera provides us with more efficiency around communication, across the Rawhiti site and between all our nurses, caregivers, residents, and management,” Guy says.
BeGroup has also bought in a tablet-based software programme, Care Cohort, which provides residents with easy to use and easy to access technology. “The older generation, myself included, aren’t very good at using and accessing technology,” Guy says.
“Care Cohort makes it a lot easier for them to get into web-based activities, entertainment, and interaction with a simple layout and easy to use and see touch screen.”
He says Rawhiti Estate has one of the first New Zealand installations of the Australian Care Cohort, and BeGroup has high hopes for the positive impact it will have on Rawhiti residents.
As much as possible, Rawhiti residents are encouraged to maintain control and choice in the decisions that affect their wellbeing, and to live fulfilling and rewarding lives.
Rawhiti Estate provides leading edge lifestyle and wellness programmes with volunteer and community support, to stimulate and enhance the lives of residents.
Rawhiti Estate has bee n designed, built, and project managed by South Auckland’s Argon Construction, who coordinated the design and construction of the infrastructure, from the initial demolition until the facility was handed over to BeGroup.
“Argon Construction have done a fantastic job and Rawhiti Estate is a credit to them,” Guy says. “On time, on budget, I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
Rawhiti Estate is BeGroup’s first design and build facility and the second village in its portfolio, following the resort-style Falls Estate in Whangarei.
Earthworks are now underway on BeGroup’s third offering, Halfmoon Bay Estate, which will include 70 independent living apartments, basement carparking, and extensive community facilities in stage one. Future development of the site will include further independent living options and an aged care facility.
