Pro Steel Engineering Ltd offers a wide range of services, from custom-built design, to heavy steel fabrication, excavator attachment, truck fabrication, and to repairs and maintenance.

Hamilton steel engineering company Pro Steel Engineering Ltd traces its beginnings back to 2001 when, operating as a small home-based engineering workshop, it mainly serviced the forestry sector, modifying and repairing excavators.
In 2010, Avon Rosewarne teamed up with Craig Smith and established Profiling Ltd enabling Pro Steel Engineering Ltd to have all its profiles done on site speeding up the manufacturing time.
Even though Profiling Ltd is based at the same workshop it operates as a separate business catering mainly to clients in Hamilton and the wider Waikato area.
By 2009, with demand for its services increasing, the home based business had out grown its workshop and moved into a modern purpose-built 640sqm workshops at 22 McKee St Te Rapa Hamilton where it handles a wide range of steel-related design, manufacturing, fabrication and installation projects.
“We’ve had a good 2017 with a noticeable increase in work in forestry industry keeping us busy,” says Avon.
“We’re quite a small team here, only nine of us between the engineering and profi ling work, allowing our fabricators to work on a project from begin to end,” he says.
Pro Steel Engineering Ltd offers a wide range of services, from custom-built design, to heavy steel fabrication, excavator attachment, truck fabrication, and to repairs and maintenance.
“We can manage the whole project from design to completion, on site and on time.
“We build ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structures) for any machine. We are very proud of our custommade purpose built cabs. “It’s a big job firstly removing the old cab before replacing it with a new, more safely and efficiently designed Pro Steel Engineering cab.”
All frames are built by AS2980-2007 ticketed welders and are fully certified by a registered engineer.
“We’ve had a long association with the forestry industry starting with my family who were into forestry up North, so we understand the specialised needs of this challenging industry,” Avon says.
Through the years the team at Pro Steel Engineering Ltd have worked on modifying and repairing all the well-known brands, including Komatsu, Hitachi, Hyundai, Sumitomo, Liebherr and CAT.
With a comprehensive range of steel engineering equipment including CNC plasma cutting, Pro Steel Engineering Ltd can take on just about any project from presswork, welding, lathe work, or folding.
The company was commissioned by Hamilton City Council (2009) to design and fabricate a specialised playgroup maintenance truck. The truck’s main tool box was fitted to house necessary spare parts, along with a lawn-mower and a 2000 kg tow bar.
