Placemakers Silverdale re-located six years ago from Whan gaparaoa to be closer to the signifi cant developments happening in the region.

Placemakers Silverdale is proud to base its business around the desire to help builders, such as those working in Millwater and Milldale, to get the job done efficiently.
“We’re a trade-oriented store assisting largely builders and construction companies. We see our business as a real partnership between us and our customers to play our part in ensuring their projects are a real success,” explains Placemakers Silverdale branch operator John Gair.
In fact Placemakers Silverdale re-located six years ago from its previous location in Whan gaparaoa to be closer to the significant developments happening in the region to better service its customers. This is also supported by a branch in Mangawhai and in 2020 a new branch is due to open in Warkworth.
Placemakers Silverdale trade sales manager Darryn Metcalfe says that the role of Placemakers Silverdale is to assist builders to get the job done easily and efficiently.
For example on offer is a broad range of products, extended business hours opening at 6.30am so builders can get an early start on their day and a dedicated sales force regularly calling in on customers. This is backed up by an in-depth delivery service right to site.
Although Placemakers offers an extensive range of products it is also able to source the unique and specific products that are sometimes specified in projects. “We have a real depth of experience in our team so we can often find special products when requested, secure the best price for our customer and then get it to them on time,” says Darryn.
As timeliness is key in the building industry Placemakers also offers a 60-minute order make-up service so customers can phone, place an order and pick it up an hour later. The accuracy and speed at which Placemakers can process and deliver orders to customers sets it apart, says John.
The company’s service promise guarantee also pledges to answer customer calls within 30 sec-onds or call back within an hour, to deliver to site in full and on time or refund the delivery fee and to deliver frame and truss orders within the agreed time or pay the customer $200 per day.
Placemakers Silverdale offers robust systems to help its customers to better manage their own businesses. Once Placemakers is supplied with a plan one of the company’s team can price up a job. After the job is accepted Placemakers manages the process through product and delivery management systems.
When the project has been completed online statements and job accounts allow the customer to easily keep track of products ordered for each project.

Keeping customers up to date with the latest products is another focus and Placemakers Silverdale has a sales team that is out on the road and also holds initiatives like think tank breakfast where customers are invited to view new products and give their feedback.
John says this also helps Placemakers Silverdale to understand what customers need.To make things easy Placemakers Silverdale also offers an installed solutions on specific elements of a build – such as windows and roofs – that builders would normally have to subcontract out.
“This gives our customers one point of contact and one invoice. It also helps mitigate risk as we take on the responsibility,” explains John. “It’s just another example of the way we go the extra mile to make the job easier for our customers because we aim for long term partnerships.”
