Canterbury farmers Brigitte and Braden Barnes of Braebid Farms have won the Fonterra & ASB First Farm Award at the 2025 NZ Dairy Industry Awards. In Putaruru, the Hayward family has been dedicated to dairy farming for five decades as they blend tradition with modern challenges to create their industry benchmark-setting Goldwyn Ayrshires herd.
Being a lifetime farmer and keen trout fisherman has piqued Bryce McKenzie’s passion to protect the
country’s waterways. His son Jared now runs the farm.
