When Bridie Virbickas found out she had won the 2025 Primary Industries New Zealand Emerging Leader Award she could hardly believe it was real. Hayden and Alecia Lawrence have partnered with FertFinda and Elite Foliar Solutions to unlock previously inaccessible farmland and achieve better grass growth on their 151-hectare effective Taranaki dairy farm. Well-known for his work with Jerseys, Tokoroa breeder’s Josh and Kareena Sneddon is putting renewed focus on a lesser-known breed, the Dairy Shorthorn.
