This 301sqm home near Tirau has been designed for optimal sun, views and entertaining.

First time entrant to the Registered Master Builders House of the Year competition, NuVista Homes, has come away with silver for the Waikato region in the New Home $750,000 – $1 Million category.
Company director Rachel Roberts, who owns NuVista Homes with husband Brad, says that they didn’t even think of entering until the home was nearly complete.
“This shows that we aim for this same high level of quality on every home we build,” she says. The 301sqm home near Tirau was designed for optimal sun, views and entertaining fl owing to the outdoors into well-designed alfresco spaces.
Rachel, who specialises in the design details of the interior of the homes, says the pressed-tin features deliver ornate character in the kitchen and on the ceiling of the living area of the home. “They were an idea the client had and we helped to deliver their vision,” she says.
The home also includes eco-friendly features such as up-spec insulation, LED lighting and energy and water-efficient appliances.
Rachel and Brad, a Licensed Building Practitioner with around 15 years’ building experience, started their company approximately four years ago.
Based in Tirau, NuVista Homes completes projects throughout the Waikato –new home builds, renovations, tiny homes and general maintenance projects. With regards to new homes, NuVista Homes offers its own range of plans with three and four bedroom options.
Rachel says that the plans include distinctive features not often seen in such house design offerings. Clients are also of course welcome to have their own input into the plan and make any changes they would like.
For clients who want to start from scratch NuVista Homes also offers a design and build service. Clients can also bring their own plans if they already have them.
“We really understand how overwhelming the design decisions can be when building a new home so we work with our clients from start to finish,” says Rachel. “We are a small personal team and the client will deal with the same person throughout their project.”
This is coupled with high levels of attention to detail and quality, something Rachel says NuVista Homes emphasises with its team as well as partnering with subcont ractors with the same high standards resulting in award winning homes.
This is evident in a large renovation project the company is just completing which saw an older farm house transformed into a two storey home with a seven metre high brick feature wall at the entrance.
The home will likely be entered in the 2020 House of the Year competition. Rachel says the fact that NuVista Homes is a member of Registered Master Builders means clients can benefit from the organisation’s 10 year guarantee.
“We have a strong passion for what we do and our entire team takes real pride in attention to detail and quality of workmanship on every project, large or small.
“We just love helping to make someone’s dream come true by delivering their dream home that they can be truly proud of and get a great deal of pleasure living in for years to come.”
