Company general manager Dan Andrews says that this means that customers’ cargo is carefully transported by experienced people with a vested interest in ensuring that customers are 100% happy with the service and delivery. “We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding service across the board. We offer a personal service that goes the extra mile,” he says. A good example is that rather than just deliver goods to the customer’s address Ace Furniture Freight will also ensure the goods are delivered into the customers’ living rooms, offi ces or wherever it needs to go. This has seen the company come up with some innovative solutions at times such as taking off doors so goods can be taken inside a house, removing windows to get a sofa inside an apartment or transporting furniture into a building by crane. “Someone has to get the goods in the house – that someone is us. People use us because we make it happen,” he says. The Ace Furniture Freight brand was established in Tauranga in 2001. The company grew rapidly within the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Auckland regions with the primary business being the freighting of new furniture and appliances from manufacturers in Auckland, the Bay of Plenty and Waikato to various retail outlets. In addition to this there was also the local delivery services in Tauranga, Hamilton and Rotorua. In 2004, coverage was extended to include all major North Island centres. Dan says Ace Furniture Freight services a variety of customers from homeowners wanting to move house to retailers and manufacturers. “We often visit the same house repeatedly – we may deliver the doors, the kitchen, appliances, move the occupant in and then we are back again with the new lounge and dining and bedroom suites.” But no matter what the size of the job the customer still receives the same top-notch service the company has forged its reputation on. In 2011, Ace moved to a brand new purposebuilt premise in a new industrial development at Tauriko. Dan says this convenient location has allowed the company to reactmore effi ciently and promptly to the needs of customers. In addition to moving new furniture and appliances Ace Furniture Freight offers a storage and distribution facility offering 1700sqm of storage space. As an MPIapproved site, Ace Furniture Freight also offers container de-vanning. The service includes de-vanning the contents of a container, delivery of the contents throughout New Zealand and the storage of the contents if required, providing a complete logistical solution for the distribution of imported products. Dan says the success of Ace Furniture Freight has been built on relationships – be it with customers, staff or other transport companies who work in together from time to time. Ace Furniture Freight has good systems in place and Dan says further enhancements are currently underway to propel the business to the next level in this area.
