Dunedin landscaping company Neville Stewart Landscaping offers a comprehensive service covering landscape design, construction management and garden maintenance.
Director Neville Stewart says he and his team aim to deliver a quality landscaping product where clients are delighted with the results and continue to delight over time as plants grow and the garden matures.
“We first meet our clients with an initial free look consultation to talk to clients and understand their vision they have for their outdoor space and personal and social needs for their outdoor space.”
The next step is to draw up a draft concept plan for clients to consider, and once approved, a final full-colour computer generated CAD design is created.
“This is extremely helpful as people often have difficulty visualising the end result. We can also provide plant lists with images which clients find very helpful.”
“What we focus on is the spatial elements of the design, what is a comfortable amount of space for each living situation, also the needs of the clients, and what is possible to achieve on their site, and what best reflects the architectural style of their house and local environment.”
Making clients’ wish lists happen, creating a place where they love to live and to enjoy their outdoor living space is at the heart of the business, Neville says.
For new house builds, landscaping can be under way at the beginning of construction and completed soon after the client moves in.
“People can make use of the outdoor space straight away.” Landscaping adds considerable value and street appeal to any property, regardless of its age, he says.
Using professional expertise to design outdoors spaces saves costs as problems areas can be identified early, eliminating the stress created by people of doing it themselves and not knowing the best plants and materials to use. “Good plant selection and garden design is key to finishing off any landscaping project.
“Dunedin has a variety of micro and macro climates in the city and its environs which includes coastal and estuarine areas. This means a wide variety of plants, native to many different countries can be used and thrive when planted in the best environment and conditions.
Places such as windswept Kaka Point, a popular bolt hole for Dunedin residents including Neville, are ideal for the use of hardy plants native to New Zealand.
Neville Stewart Landscaping has made its mark on some Kaka Point properties where their design work has led to word of mouth referrals.
“Our work in Kaka Point has resulted in beautiful landscape designs for changing the gardens of some newly renovated homes as well as new build. These homes include wild coastal landscape, with stunning views to the ocean.”
Neville Stewart Landscaping is a member of Registered Master Landscapers,  a national organisation dedicated to representing, promoting and education professional landscapers in New Zealand.
The company’s professionalism and dedication has generated a lot of excellent feedback from clients who are delighted to not only to see their vision fulfilled, but by the way in which Neville Stewart Landscaping handled the whole process from start to finish.
