Navigation Homes comes to Nga Roto
Navigation Homes has a wide range of stylish, functional homes for all budgets.

Navigation Homes Central Plateau is bringing its first class, premium construction and management service to Nga Roto Estate in Wharewaka East, a modern residential development in a prime location of Taupo.
In stage one of Nga Roto Estate, Navigation Homes has already sold eight house-and-land packages and has another eight on offer.
Yvonne and Yvette Westerman from Bayleys Taupo have worked with Nga Roto Estate developer Carrus and Navigation Homes Central Plateau to help secure section options. Sections at Nga Roto Estate are generous, ranging from 650sqm to 920sqm.
Navigation Homes Central Plateau has entry level house and land packages based on the development’s minimum covenants for house size starting at $585,000, up to mid size, then top of the range to suit all budgets.
Navigation Homes Central Plateau franchisee Emma Sparkes loves the location of Nga Roto Estate. “It’s convenient to the airport and is only a short drive into town,” she says.
“There is an underpass to get down to the lakeside, the Lion’s Walk, the Three Mile Bay boat ramp, so it’s safe for kids and families to walk to the lake without having to cross any main roads.”
Emma and her husband Simon have been with Navigation Homes for three years, after spending 10 years as an independent building company.
“What’s always stuck in my head is the fact 20% of the population will build with a niche independent building company, while 80% will build with a volume group housing company,” Emma says. “Within three years, we’ve had the results.
For the first six months we were really just getting set up, so in two and a half years, we’ve built 30 homes.” The first 23 homes were at 62-lot subdivision Huka Heights, all built and handed over within 18 months.
Navigation Homes Central Plateau has grown its staff with Emma and Simon now joined by two sales representatives and a personal assistant, along with a team of 10 builders and apprentices. “We have a fabulous team of employees, and we value all of our sub-contractors and suppliers too,” Emma says.
The company is now building its first show home at 518 Lake Terrace, and is due to open in September. The design is based onNavigation Homes’ most popular design, the C5 from its high quality, low cost Compass series. “We have built nine C5’s so far,” Emma says. “It’s a three to four bedroom home with two living areas.”
Navigation Homes Central Plateau has modified the design into a four bedroom home with two living areas, separate toilet, separate large laundry, and outdoor living area with an undercover portico, 90sqm wrap around kwila deck, and schist outdoor fireplace. “This show home will showcase what we are all about – building beautiful family homes.”
Next year Navigation Homes Central Plateau will open a second showhome, this time at Nga Roto Estate. An H-shape, entertainer’s dream, the second show home will be something completely different to capture a different section of Taupo’s new home builders market.
