Developer buoyant over city’s future
BOSI’s most recent project is 14 townhouses in Milton Street, Sydenham.

The future of Christchurch is looking bright according to local property development company BOSI Ltd.
This company started post earthquake in 2008 after seeing an opportunity for future development in the garden city and has now completed a number of townhouse and apartment projects.
“We hope to make a good contribution to the city, designing and delivering beautiful homes to the local people,” says company manager Tony Yan.
The company’s most recent project is 14 townhouses in Milton Street, Sydenham. Nine townhouses have been completed and ten have already been sold through local real estate agent Harcourts.
The townhouses are situated over two levels with kitchen, living and dining areas and a single garage on the ground floor and two or three bedrooms on the second level.
The project has been designed by Gravity Architecture, which completes architectural home design, new commercial buildings, residential alterations and additions, multi-unit developments and hospitality design projects.
The Milton Street project has been constructed by local building company M J Pidgeon Builder Ltd. The project will be completed by mid 2019.
Tony describes the look of the project as contemporary with Rockcote textured coating and brick cladding. BOSI Ltd has completed a variety of projects in Christchurch.
Previously completed projects include six units at 15 George St, four units at 27 Sherborne Street, four units at 946 Colombo Street and six units at 8 Defoe Place 200 Milton Street.
A big project in development is 120 apartments to be built on a 9000 square metre piece of land in Colombo Street.
The project is in the design stage and will be a signifi cant project for BOSI Ltd and for Christchurch, says Tony.
BOSI Ltd employs a team of five and uses specialised expertise as required including architects, builders etc. Tony says the company’s design process is comprehensive in order to deliver the right project to the market.
“When we begin a new project we sit down with a real estate agent and the architect to discuss what the market demands, design and functionality in order to produce a beautiful home people will love,” he explains. It’s not just about what looks good, says Tony, it also has to be practical and easy to live in.
He says that it is the company’s past experience that allows it to come up with the right product. He says that the aim is always to design something different and special to add flavour to the development of Christchurch and the rebuild continues to transform the city.
“Christchurch will become a modern city that will be desirable to live in. The central city rebuild is really gaining momentum and lots of changes are taking place with more inner city living developments such as apartments and townhouses.
“BOSI Ltd hopes to be a part of that journey delivering beautiful homes to the Christchurch market.”
