A smart and simple way of building
Milestone Homes has been around for 15 years and has now opened in the Franklin District.

Well-established housing brand Milestone Homes has now hit the Franklin district with its proven and purpose-designed homes offering a smart choice for New Zealanders who want a home designed with smarter thinking, delivered at a very smart price.
Milestone Homes offers a smart and simple way of constructing a home, with smarter specifications.
All Milestone Homes’ house plans have been designed after researching and developing the most cost effective way of completing each stage of the build.
Milestone Homes has been around for 15 years and has now opened in the Franklin District, between Auckland’s metropolitan area and the Waikato Plains.
With his background in sales and marketing, Milestone Homes Franklin managing director Ruve Naidoo will be project managing the franchise’s builds.
“It felt a natural move to Franklin where there is a lot of activity, a lot of land, and a lot of building opportunity,” he says. “The housing crisis is happening across the country, not just in Auckland.”
Milestone Homes Franklin’s key market is new home builders, so there is a real need for its houses to be affordable. “We work hard to make it that way,” Ruve says.
“We understand Kiwis are patriotic about their building. They want an affordable house, but they don’t want to sacrifice any quality. This is why we are using local brands – they are able to deliver quality at an affordable price.” Ruve has been working hard behind the scenes to sign up the best local suppliers in the area.
“I’ve talked to a wide range of suppliers in the Franklin area, making sure we get the right people who fi t our business model,” he says.
“All of our builders will be Registered Master Builders and Certified Builders, they are our credentials. Everyone has been really approachable and on board, it makes sense to them. Our floor plans are the traditional Kiwi homes they are familiar with, but our difference is the affordability that comes with a smarter business model.”
Each of Milestone Homes’ range of 30 stylish and functional smart home designs has been created by a hand-picked team of design experts who use smart design solutions to provide homes that are exceptional value for money.
Each plan is available with three different façade options, and the range is reviewed annually with new plans added.
Milestone Homes are built to standard measures, which minimises waste and unnecessary expense, and the superior buying power of a nationwide brand allows Milestone Homes to secure competitive rates from its supply partners and tradespeople.
The savings are then passed on to Milestone Homes’ clients. Milestone Homes are built out of Monier Brick or James Hardie weatherboard, with Gerard metal roof tiles for low maintenance.
Other premier building suppliers the company uses include Carters, Pink Batts, Norman Ellison and Plumbing World.
As well as the construction efficiencies gained from pre-designed plans, Milestone Homes’ methodology makes building a new home easier than ever, and more understandable for those people building their first home.
When you’re starting out with a blank piece of paper, it can be hard for people to turn their dreams and ideas into a plan.
“Our structured selection process offers a range of upgrade options, such as adding in a scullery, rumpus room, or outdoor living area, removing a bedroom, upgrading a benchtop or a whole kitchen.
“And within six months of walking in our door, our clients could be walking into the front door of their new home,” Ruve says.
He says range wise, Milestone Homes Franklin is currently family oriented, offering three- to fourbedroom homes with double garages.
As part of the consultation process Milestone Homes takes clients on a virtual journey through their new home.
“We can show clients in real time how their new home could look and feel and give them a true sense of the space both inside and out.
“In a matter of minutes, they can customise their options, change wall colours, facades, and cladding until they can see a smarter plan for their new home.”
