Old-school work ethic drives business
Green Team Builders, Jamie Green and dad Andy, have proved a perfect fi t for the Mike Greer brand since taking over Mike Greer Homes West Coast.

With an old-school work ethic including attention to detail and going the extra mile, Mike Greer Homes West Coast is in competent hands with Jamie Green and his building company Green Team Builders.
West Coast born and bred with a lifetime in the construction industry, Jamie first visited building sites with his builder dad Andy as a young boy.
He followed his dad into the construction industry, and when Andy took a job with the local Chris Yates Construction, Jamie completed his apprenticeship under his dad’s tutelage.
He went on to work for another local builder for five years, before he and Andy set up Green Team Builders about eight years ago. Green Team Builders was often used to build new homes for Mike Greer Homes West Coast.
The previous owner of Mike Greer Homes West Coast had a Christchurch business which was inundated with work following the Canterbury earthquakes.
Too busy in Christchurch to continue, he suggested Jamie contact Mike Greer with a view to taking over the branch and the rest is history. Jamie’s old school work ethics made him a great fit for the Mike Greer brand, and the partnership is working well.
Very much a family business, Andy is still involved and as foreman of Green Team Builders, he oversees every project, while Jamie’s wife Brooke provides customer service support.
“As the business owner, I am also sales and project manager, so I’m involved with each client from the start to the finish of their project,” Jamie says.
“The builders on the job are my own staff, and I oversee them to make sure everything is built to my own high standards.”
Mike Greer Homes West Coast is now involved with Hokitika’s newest subdivision, Racecourse Terraces. Situated five minutes from the centre of Hokitika, Racecourse Terraces still has a rural feel.
Its terraced sections enjoy panoramic views of the Southern Alps, Mount Cook, the Tasman Sea, and Hokitika Racecourse and township.

Mike Greer Homes West Coast is set to complete two homes at Racecourse Terraces in Hokitika this year. The Terraces boast views of the Southern Alps, Mount Cook,
the Tasman Sea, and Hokitika Racecourse and township.

Mike Greer Homes West Coast is set to complete two new homes at Racecourse Terraces this year, and as a West Coast wide business, will likely coincide the projects to keep the team in the same location and provide each project with the best efficiency.
One will be a four bedroom executive home and land package on one of the subdivision’s front sections, with sea and town views.
The home is in a U shape with a very large and private deck in the central space, opening out from the open plan lounge, dining, and kitchen.
The client’s home is a two-storey, cedar and schist clad upmarket home on one of the subdivision’s top terraces. A prime example of Mike Greer Homes’ design and build capabilities, this home includes an internal elevator.
“It is a very unique home, specifically designed to suit our client, his section, and his requirements,” Jamie says.
“It has been future proofed for when he gets older, so he can eventually retire there. We do a lot of builds like that, and we’ll also build homes designed by the clients’ own architects. Mike Greer Homes clients aren’t limited to the plans in our plan books.”
