Queenstown hotel ticks all the boxes
Queenstown’s new 4-Star Holiday Inn Express & Suites is hoping to cater all types of travellers when its doors open for business in April 2020.

Featuring a fitness room, flexible meeting rooms, self-serve guest laundry and 227 well appointed guest rooms, Queenstown’s new 4-Star Holiday Inn Express & Suites will cater all types of travellers when its doors open for business next April.
Located in a prime position on the corner of Stanley and Sydney streets, the hotel enjoys close proximity to the city centre, shopping, restaurant and entertainment precinct and provides easy access to outdoor activities including the popular ski destinations of Coronet Peak, the Remarkables, and Cardrona.
Hotel general manager Jason Sabin says Holiday Inn Express & Suites Queenstown offers guests more where it matters most from a convenient location and exceptional sustainability-focused facilities and initiatives.
“We’re passionate about the environment and will introduce a range of sustainable initiatives throughout the hotel including replacing plastic water bottles with refillable glass bottles, going straw free and offering guests the choice to forego housekeeping services if they stay for two nights or more.”
Looking forward to showcasing what smart, simple travel is all about, Jason says that he and his team are excited about welcoming both locals seeking a ‘staycation’ and travellers exploring the region.
Included in the well-appointed guest rooms are power showers, black-out blinds, high-quality bedding with a choice of hard or soft pillows and uncapped free Wi-Fi.
“Guests can start their day right with our complimentary Express Start Buffet Breakfast or Grab & Go option, stay connected with free Wi-Fi and sleep easy with our Express Essentials providing all the quality in-room conveniences that make you feel at home, even when you’re away.
And we have the all important on-site parking.”
Developed by Pro-invest Group, one of Australasia’s largest hotel investment platforms, the hotel is being built by well known construction company Naylor Love.
Pro-invest Group develops, owns and operates a portfolio of select service hotels operating under the Holiday Inn Express brand in partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
The Queenstown hotel will be New Zealand’s first Holiday Inn Express hotel to open and Pro-invest’s seventh hotel following existing Holiday Inn Express hotels located in Sydney’s Macquarie Park, Brisbane, Adelaide, Newcastle, with new hotels soon to open next to Sydney Airport and in Melbourne’s Southbank precinct.
Designed by acclaimed Queenstown architect Preston Stevens of McAuliffe Stevens, the proposed hotel combines various abstract elements that are representative of the southern region’s landscape history.
“The architecture is a kinetic interplay of ice and rock,” says Preston.
“The underlying concept of referencing the natural landscape will be instrumental in achieving a design that’s a positive fit with the immediate urban environment and also with the wider natural landscape.”
A visually impressive hotel, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Queenstown will be a great addition to Pro-invest’s award winning, growing hotel portfolio.
“It will add to the already great reputation of Queenstown as a premier holiday destination for families and a hub for business,” says Jason.
“We’re pleased to be able to contribute to its vibrancy by offering leisure or business travellers a simple, smart hotel offering.”
