Te Aroha’s Glen Armstrong Builders specialises in architectural and high end new builds and renovations, and thanks to Glen’s 13 years of experience has a reputation for client satisfaction that covers the Waikato region.
Glen started his own business with his wife Gina in 2015, in the interests of project managing for his own customers after having built for a local company for 10 years.
“The market was brilliant at the time and it was a good time to move on,” he says. “I had already forged a great reputation, a lot of my previous employer’s customers would choose me to build their houses.”
Local subdivisions were opening up and there were plenty of sections available at the time, so new builds and architecturally designed homes were part of the company’s repertoire from day one.
Glen’s experience over the previous 10 years also stood him in good stead to take on the challenges of high end and complex renovation projects. “Our slogan is simple at Glen Armstrong Builders – it starts with good foundations – and our foundation is rock solid,” Glen says.

The construction team consists of fi ve professional and passionate builders. Each one of the company’s projects is personally managed by Glen himself, which allows for delivery of exceptional service to every one of his clients.
The company is also a licensed and Registered Master Builder, with the skills, expertise, and experience required for exceptional home builds and renovations all throughout the Waikato.
“In addition, we have a trusted team of subcontractors we use for each and every one of our projects,” Glen says.
“This helps us ensure consistent project quality, low prices, and fantastic customer service.” A recent project completed in Ha milton has been one of the nicest homes Glen has built since he’s been self employed.
The 270sqm country style home, designed by Drafting Waikato, incorporates a lot of classic detail with timber weatherboard cladding, boxed corners, and detailed design on the windows.
One of the highlights of the project for Glen was the opportunity to work closely with the owners, who were very involved and were often on site helping out with the build of their home. Glen is now looking forward to starting a new project on Thompsons Track over the Kaimai Ranges.
Designed by Mark Brewington, Glen describes the home as earthly, and is going to be built using New Zealand redwood timber which has been milled from site.
