The market is busy for Form in the Waikato with the company currently working on a number of projects in the region and with forward bookings for more. One significant project due for completion in December is Parkhaven luxury apartments in Hamilton.
The inner city living development features 16 top of the range, high spec apartments and five penthouses. Consisting of a variety of one, two and three bedroom options set over several levels there will also be commercial levels below.
Form’s Waikato operations manager Cameron Young says the main challenge has been availability of resources, in particular structural steel, which meant that Form has had to come up with an alternative project methodology.
The structure was essentially constructed in two halves with structural steel erected on one half and concrete poured with work beginning at the same time on the second half.
Weather was the other big challenge with an extremely wet winter and spring. Designed by Edwards White Architects, the building envelope is heavily detailed including a mix of claddings and profiles in horizontal and vertical layouts.
Form will have up to 100 people on site at the project peak. Cameron says that the successful completion of the project will be another example of Form’s ability to deliver on what it says it will and come up with out-of-the-box solutions in response to unexpected changes.
Form is the result of a successful merger in 2007 between two long standing Bay of Plenty construction companies; Moyle Construction and Eaton Developments.
Form now offers a team of over 160 people in the Waikato, Auckland and Bay of Plenty regions. The company’s services focus on commercial, industrial, seismic re-strengthening, retail, education, fi t-outs and weather tight remediation.
Cameron says that Form always aims to partner with clients and business partners for the greater success of all involved.
He says that clients are viewed as a key part of the Form team during their project but Form aims to take care of the project details and any difficulties that might crop up to make the process as hassle free as possible, just as it has been on the Parkhaven project.
“At Form our approach is entirely focused on enabling and working closely with clients and business partners to complete construction projects on time, on budget, exceeding expectation.”
He says that Form’s goal is to be one of New Zealand’s best construction companies, delivering to a standard that consistently exceeds client expectations by focusing on the highest quality, value for money and return on investment.
Form Waikato is currently working on a new build at Ruakura Berry Farm and has recently completed new builds for the Hynds distribution plant and Trust Waikato.
Form is also working on an office fit-out for BCD at Parkhaven and the Victoria Street Apartments remediation project, which includes around 30 apartments over six levels.
Cameron says that Form Waikato has strong forward bookings and is currently in discussions about a number of large projects.
