Diverse firm continuing to prosper
First Civil undertakes large subdivision works and major infrastructure projects, as well as slip repairs and small lot retaining works.

Auckland based civil contracting company First Civil is under the new ownership of Rhys Faleafa who plans to build on the company’s reputation of getting the job done for customers.
A Chartered Accountant by trade, Rhys brings a strong financial focus to the business, which he believes will increase efficiencies for the benefit of customers.
“Our value proposition is to be nimble and cost effective. We have a flat structure and an experienced team so we can be responsive, flexible and efficient,” he explains.
First Civil was started in 2016 by engineer Ben Shea and experienced driller Keiran Tucker, both of whom still play a strong advisory role in the company.
Rhys says the company has an extremely experience team of staff capable of delivering what the customer requires.
“The best thing we can do is price competitively to give the customer great value, and then do a great job. Our team are true specialists in what they do and that results in great outcomes for our clients and leads to repeat business. Our main focus is to make the overall job easier for our clients by taking care of our part.”
While First Civil can undertake any civil works on a project, including drainlaying, excavation and driveways, it has built up considerable expertise in piling and retaining walls.
It now offers seven dedicated crews with the knowledge and skills to get the job done.
“We specialise in retaining and piling – timber pole walls, steel beams and block walls – and all types of piling work,” explains Rhys.
