High quality design and workmanship in its show homes, representative of all of its projects, has resulted in 99 percent of Christchurch’s Faye Homes’ business being generated by its show homes.
“Our show homes are very important to us,” says Faye Homes’ marketing manager, Marshall Wang. “Even with our referrals, when they see our show home they fall in love with that and go on to build with us. Our show homes are attracting people.”
Faye Homes now has a new show home under construction at Te Whariki in Lincoln, due for completion in February.
Marshall says, Faye Homes has achieved something different with this latest show home, something very attractive with a mono pitch parapet roof looking quite commercial and modern, and the cladding a mix of Firth Designer Series brick, plaster panel, and cedar.
It offers four bedrooms, two bathrooms, three living areas, double internal access garage, and all day sun in every room. “Every show home we build has had all day sun in every room,” Marshall says.
“For this site, the orientation of the section was a little awkward, with the north side pointing down the street. The living area just out from the middle taking the sun from the north, and the bedroom area juts out from the back, taking the sun from the west. Outdoors we offer two courtyard living spaces, one catching the sun in the morning and one in the afternoon.”
Faye Homes is a growing residential building company which has been operating in Christchurch for eight years. In the past two years it has moved from a leased office in Sockburn into a building it has purchased on Birmingham Drive, Middleton.
Faye Homes has rebranded and increased its staff from six to eight. “But the number of properties we are building remains the same as we did in our first year,” Marshall says. “Because we offer quite a bit of flexibility during the build and each of our houses is quite special, it takes a lot of work.
We’re still building 30 to 40 houses a year and that won’t change.” Faye Homes knows how important its show homes are and currently has four under construction to ensure the company can continue the cycle of having two show homes on the market while two are expiring.
