Rotorua showhome bound to impress
Beautifully laid out for open plan living, a large sliding door opens out on one side to take advantage of the natural views while a large slider on the other side opens to the outdoor living area positioned for the sun.

Recognising an opportunity to showcase its stunning designs, innovation and craftsmanship, well-established Waikato ‘design and build’ specialists, Davies Homes has made its first foray into the Rotorua area.
Purchasing 2000sqm of land in Te Waerenga Road in the picturesque area of Hamurana near Lake Rotorua, Davies Homes managing director Daniel Davies has crafted a beautiful split-level showhome that takes advantage of the areas natural scenic charm.
The property presents clients with a shining example of quality and design – hallmarks of a home built by Davies Homes.
At 285sqm, the home’s design features a double garage sitting at the lowest point on the site with expansive living spaces and living bedrooms raised midway from the level of garage.
A guestroom and ensuite sits atop the garage enhancing the home’s visual appeal and accommodation capacity.

“The main level has four bedrooms with tiled showers and an ensuite off the master bedroom,” says Liz Jensen, consultant for Davies Homes.
“The main living area, including kitchen, dining and family room has a scissor truss ceiling creating a lovely open feeling of space. There’s also a separate media room opening to the outdoor living area with kitchen and dining on the other side.”
Shot blasted Bowers block and cedar provide a very contemporary high-end exterior finish, while the cedar is also featured inside to give a seamless indoor outdoor flow.
“It’s a stretched block mostly stack bonded so they are stacked straight up and down creating beautiful clear lines.”
Operating throughout the Waikato region, and now Rotorua, Daniel’s building company started 19 years ago and has developed and grown into Davies Homes.
With a career in construction stretching back 20 years, and a passion for good design, Daniel now has a full team of architects, a quantity surveyor, sales consultants and builders.
Rotorua showhome bound to impress
Liz says that while the company has past plans for inspiration, the preference is to sit down with the client, listen to their needs and have them make a wish list before designing a bespoke home that is unique to each client.
A case in point is a large 387sqm home that Davies Homes has designed for clients with an extended family.
To be built in Cambridge’s brand new Pukekura subdivision, the four-bedroom home takes into account the needs of the extended family with an attached unit that has a kitchenette, sitting room, bedroom and ensuite.
The double garage includes a workshop and gym. Davies Homes has itself purchased a section at Pukekura and while the design of the home is still in the planning stages Liz says that it will be a very contemporary design encompassing a designer kitchen and monopitch roof.
“All homes built in Pukekura must be at least 250sqm so it’s likely our showhome will be between 280sqm and 300sqm.
“All the sites are a minimum of 2500sqm so there is a sense of a country lifestyle without having the care and responsibility of paddocks and livestock. “There’s a lovely rural outlook – suitable for people who want a bit of space around them.”
