Clever, unique designs made for living

Designed with family living in mind and located in sought after Westpark Subdivision on the western fringe of Rangiora, David Reid Homes Canterbury has designed and crafted a stunning new show home positioned for solar gain.
Nestled on a 651sqm fully landscaped section, with an exposed aggregate driveway and paths, the home incorporates multple grappa decks, utilising indoor/outdoor flow of the sunny home.
Architecturally designed, the single storey 211sqm family home features a cathedral ceiling above the open plan kitchen, dining and living areas, creating a generous sense of space and light.
Chloe Brewer, sales and design consultant for David Reid Homes, explains that the sense of light is enhanced through clever placement of four automatic Velux skylights directly above the kitchen area.
Powered by small solar panels, the skylights can be opened by a wall touch-panel allowing refresh-ing airflow but will automatically close if rain is detected.
Designed by local specialists, Millbrook Kitchens, the kitchen area includes high gloss, soft grey cabinetry using a finger print free product, and cup-boards that are opened and closed electronically.
“There is a nice big scullery with bench top, cup-boards and a wine fridge and next to the scullery there’s a cleverly hidden study nook, which can be used as extra storage space.”
Boasting three double bedrooms, the master incorporates a tiled ensuite, walk-in wardrobe and double ranch slider doors leading out on to a private deck area.
The main bathroom is tiled and features a free-standing bath and shower.
“There’s a high quality grey Cavalier Bremworth carpet throughout the house except for the kitchen, entrance and study nook which uses a Quick-Step timber flooring in a parquet design,” says Chloe.

This stunning, three- bedroom show home is designed for family living and showcases David Reid Homes’ clever integration of solar orientation, technology and design.

Outside the home’s exterior makes use of a white AAC light-weight, aerated concrete cladding and features horizontal cedar in the homes grand front entrance.
Reflecting on the overall customer experience through building with David Reid Homes, Chloe explains that while the homes are very competitively priced the key is putting the team together to design, create and build the home of the customer’s dreams.
“Through David Reid Homes, we can make use of a range of ready made plans but generally we find people prefer to sit down with the architect and design their dream home.
Most of our homes are bespoke and we match the client with one of the architects that we regularly use. The architects will also ensure that the design sits within the price range the customer is comfortable with.”
Chloe says, David Reid Homes’ clients range from buyers entering the market for the first time, through to those who have built before and know exactly what they want this time round. David Reid Homes Canterbury operates from North Canterbury through to Ashburton.
“We can even help people locate a section if they don’t already have one. Our show home at Westpark Boulevard is a shining example of what customers can expect from a David Reid Home in quality, design, clever technology and most of all solar orientation.”
