Queenstown residents planning to build a home may find themselves at the back of a long queue as a result of the region’s major housing boom.

But for clients who choose to build their home with the newest Trident franchise, work can begin shortly after consent being granted.

Adam Blackadder, who runs the Queenstown franchise in partnership with James Crooks, says the dedicated resourcing that Trident can offer clients is one of the company’s significant points of difference.

“People in this area can find themselves waiting three months or more after their consent is granted before they can start work – and they’re still subject to all sorts of costs while they’re waiting.

“Our clients are saved the wait and the hassle, as well as the extra expense.”

The Trident team combines many years of experience across the building and construction sector.

The company has formed solid partnerships with experienced, reliable, and fully trade-qualified subcontractors, as well as forging strong relationships with building suppliers nationwide.

The company’s group buying power and streamlined systems give them a competitive edge that is of direct benefit to their clients.

The majority of Trident Homes’s selection of houses are within the $300,000-$750,000 single-storey range, however two-story build options are also available Trident Homes has over 20 established plans and designs, from compact 98sqm homes up to 250sqm.

Clients have the freedom to choose from one of Trident’s templates, or alternatively, to use Trident’s custom design and build process to create an entirely unique design.

Adam says that the majority of their clients chose this ‘blank canvas’ approach, as this allows them full scope to express their personal taste and lifestyle priorities in their home’s design, as well as addressing the orientation and environmental requirements of their site.

Because of the flexibility of their design process, Trident is ideally placed to design homes that blend seamlessly with the aesthetics of a preexisting subdivision, or to meet the design requirements of new subdivisions such as those under construction at Hanley’s Farm and Shotover Country.

During Adam’s time in the industry he has seen a growing focus on energy-efficiency to improve the comfort, warmth and performance of homes.

He says this provides homeowners with even greater choice when designing a home to suit their lifestyle.

“You can put in a high-end tiled shower that will look fantastic, or you might choose to upgrade the insulation with thermally broken, Low E glazing because that has more long-term value for you.

“At the end of the day, it’s about the client’s priorities. “We offer a wide range of options that they can tailor to suit their needs.”

Trident Homes has houses under construction in Queenstown, Cromwell, Wanaka, Hawea, and throughout the Central Otago region, but despite this wide reach, Adam says they run a small team that offers clients a one-on-one relationship.

“Having a small team means there’s that personal connection with clients. The feedback we get is that we’re reliable, honest, and easy to deal with.”
