Totalspan Bay of Islands-Hokianga has recently changed ownership and has completed a significant project in the region – a large architecturally designed workshop at The Landing.

Totalspan undertook the full build project package of the massive 100m x 24m commercial facility, which includes a workshop, vehicle wash down bay, laundry and kitchen.

Totalspan Bay of Islands-Hokianga owner Darryn Fisher, who owns the business with wife Kirsty, says that by working closely with the client Totalspan Bay of Islands-Hokianga was able to deliver a building that perfectly met their overseas clients’ requirements in just five months.

“This project really showcases that we don’t have a standard build and how we can deliver the right solution to suit the client’s needs and budget,” he says.

Darryn and Kirsty took over the franchise just two months ago.

Darryn brings a business background and Kirsty came from a career in contracts management and procurement.

Darryn says that because Totalspan has its own dedicated manufacturing facility in Christchurch this helps Totalspan Bay of Islands-Hokianga to react quickly to customers’ requirements as well as give greater control over quality, price and time frames.

Likewise design work is completed in New Zealand and the designers are familiar with the requirements of the building code and the environments the buildings have to withstand.

Darryn says that Totalspan Bay of Islands-Hokianga can customise buildings to suit any project from three metres in width to over 24 metres wide at any length.

He says that Totalspan designs allow for easy, cost-effective future additions and modifications.

Darryn and Kirsty assist clients from beginning to end helping with design, manufacture and build, from concept to completion.

Darryn takes the lead on business management and project management while Kirsty takes charge of the consenting process and liaison with council.

The couple employ two full time staff in the office and a trusted team of builders and subcontractors giving them full control over every aspect of the building process, including design and manufacturing.
