Homes tailored to fit lifestyle at Hanley’s Farm
Southernwide Building is proud to be a part of Hanley’s Farm, having recently completed two new homes at this exceptional new residential development near Queenstown.
The superb mountains and lake setting, lifestyle and amenities on offer make this a very attractive development.
As well, many sections at Hanley’s Farm are priced to meet the expectations of first home buyers and this has also sparked strong interest from the local market.
Southernwide Building founder John Taylor and his team recently put the finishing touches on two new homes at Hanley’s Farm (Stage One), both custom builds for clients who had bought sections there.
“We offer a complete in-house design and build service and provide a range of plans to showcase what we can do,” says John.
“These are just a starting point, as invariably people have their own ideas.
We like to sit down with clients, look at their section and their needs and then design and build from there.
“At Hanley’s Farm, the clients were interested in exploring how to get the most out of their sites and we worked closely with them to achieve that.”
One of the clients was a young couple who wanted to have room for fl atmates in their new home to help offset the cost of the mortgage.
“We used the attic space to create two bedrooms with a bathroom between them, with stairway access from the back of the garage. The couple have their own private modern home downstairs, comprising three bedrooms, two bathrooms and open plan living. For them, being able to add these two extra rooms to rent out has made all the difference, in terms of being able to own their own home.”
The second home built by Southernwide Building at Hanley’s Farm was for a professional couple seeking a similar solution.
They chose to add a bedroom and ensuite in the attic space – again, with stairway access from the garage – to complement what would otherwise have been a single-level three-bedroom home.
“We really optimised what we could do for them, given the available section size.”
Southernwide Building has been operating in the southern region since 2008 and has an established track record for excellent service.
The company, which has completed a wide range of projects from new homes through to new sheds and renovations, first entered the Queenstown market two years ago and is currently building several new family homes at Jack’s Point.
Southernwide Building has a team of builders in Queenstown and works alongside trusted local sub-contractors and suppliers.
“As a Gore-based company, most of our work has predominantly been in northern Southland and around Invercargill, but now we’re also looking to build in Central Otago as well and are planning to establish a base in Cromwell or Alexandra.”
By expanding its services to Queenstown and Cromwell, the company has been able to grow its client base and even out seasonal highs and lows in demand.
“However, we’re not trying to build too many homes a year. We don’t want to compromise on service and so will limit what we take on to what we know we can manage.”
