Experienced company looks to expand
Mace Landscape Group has expertise in all aspects of landscape design and construction, for both commercial and residential developments.

Mace Landscape Group is strengthening its position as one of Auckland’s leading landscaping companies, says Mace Landscape Group general manager of operations Brent Carly.

The company has been rebranded to a fresh, modern look and plans are underway to open a second Auckland branch to complement the company’s headquarters in Drury.

“Auckland is spreading out and a second branch will enable us to increase efficiencies and to enhance our service to clients, as well as supporting our teams already working in these areas,” says Brent.

The company boasts an over 40-year history in the industry having been established by directors Neville and Val Mace in 1975.

Today it is still very much a family business with daughter Michelle working as general manager alongside Brent and jointly overseeing the day-today operations.

Brent says that the family-based core values of the company, which focus on providing a high quality yet down to earth service, have resulted in long-term relationships with clients that have grown as the company has expanded its services.

A case in point is Goodman, developer of the award-winning Highbrook Business Park in East Tamaki. Mace Landscape Group has been providing services to Goodman for over a decade during which time it has b een involved in design, installation and maintenance of landscapes throughout the business park.

“We have worked with Goodman on numerous developments within Highbrook, many from the resource consent stage,” says Brent.

“The brief was for sustainable plants that were hardy and suited to the busy commercial environment, yet looked good year round and were easy to maintain, so that’s what we’ve delivered,” he says.

As with all its design and build projects, Mace Landscape Group seeks to bring fresh ideas to the landscaping through the use of bold colour and texture in plant selections, and through detailed designs that balance the aesthetic and practical considerations of a site, he says.

“Landscaping plays an important part in any commercial environment.

“We believe the key is providing a high impact but low maintenance scheme that’s attractive to property owners, those who work there and visitors to the premises. “t’s not an easy brief but it’s one we’ve built a solid reputation for.”

This is demonstrated through the impressive list of key clients Mace Landscape Group has built within the commercial industry including many large construction companies and private developers as well as several retirement villages, body corporates and local councils.

A key strength of Mace Landscape Group is its ability to offer clients a complete service.

This is supported by the company’s two sister companies – Mace Trees and Bark Wholesalers – and an established network of key suppliers.

From the strength of these foundations Mace Landscape Group has also built a successful highend residential service and seen significant growth in its maintenance service.

“Projects such as Highbrook really show the capabilities of Mace Landscape Group to undertake large scale commercial projects and to offer seamless integration of multiple services.

“We get to know our clients and their requirements well so we can deliver the right end result.

“We really focus on developing strong long term relationships and are excited about how we can continue to do this in the future.”
