Lifestyle appeal underpins Hanley’s Farm
A vibrant new community is starting to take shape near Queenstown at Hanley’s Farm between Lake Wakatipu, Deer Park Heights and The Remarkables, with some 80 new homes now finished or under construction there.
It is no surprise that this master planned residential development continues to attract plenty of interest three years after the first sections there were released to market by RCL Group in July 2016.
There is much to love about the location, just 10 minutes from Frankton and surrounded by stunning lake and mountain vistas.
The Remarkables Park and Five Mile shop-ping precincts are within easy reach, along with Jack’s Point’s championship golf course and other premium amenities.
Bike trails and walking tracks connect Hanley’s Farm with the wider Queenstown Trails network.
With its impressive playground, recreational facilities and open spaces, coupled with simple covenants, Hanley’s Farm has been a natural choice for many local people seeking a new home in the Queenstown area.
“We have got a lot of community infrastructure in place and the development is predominantly north-facing,” says RCL Group CEO David Wightman.
“Much of the land is quite flat and easy to build on and the building covenants are sensible and very navigable, so it’s easy for people to understand what they can build and to work to a budget. People can buy here with confidence.”
The thoughtfully designed building process also protects the idyllic setting and outstanding views at Hanley’s Farm.
RCL Group’s long-term projection for Hanley’s Farm is for a 1750-lot development, catering to a wide cross section of potential buyers from first home buyers through to retirees by offering a diverse range of realistically priced sections, from smaller to larger lots.
Around 489 sections have been sold to date, of which 148 have been settled so far with the remainder due to be delivered this year and in 2020.
The first new home was completed there last spring.
“We’re very particular over the sales process, which is being conducted through Bayleys,” David explains.
“We want people buying at Hanley’s Farm to be doing so with a view to staying and living at Hanley’s Farm. Those buying a section need to build there: we are looking for people who are committed to the project.”
RCL Group’s vision for Hanley’s Farm is to provide a safe community with plenty of parks and recreational opportunities, offering a quality lifestyle for all.
“We have opened up a substantial regional park on the site with a major adventure playground, which has already been completed.
“We wanted to deliver the recreational space up front. It has been developed with the entire community in mind so everyone can enjoy it and have fun, including toddlers, small children, teenagers, adults and retirees. Importantly, the recreational space is an all access facility. It’s there for everybody.”
Adding to the appeal of the recreational amenities for families is news that the Ministry of Education has secured a site at Hanley’s Farm for a new primary school and is now working on a design for that.
It will join other primary schools already located in the area.
This spring, a new 10-lot display village is due to open next to the park at Hanley’s Farm, showcasing the work of local builders and highlighting upcoming house and land packages.
The village show homes will demonstrate inspiring options for those planning to build at Hanley’s Farm.
“Over the next 12 to 24 months, there will be a lot happening at Hanley’s Farm as the community starts to build along with the infrastructure, including a childcare centre to support young families.”
