Luxury villas on offer in Northland
TH Heads at Omapere is a brand new offering for Northland and one which owners Shane and Phillipa Lloyd hope will attract people to the region year round.
The couple, who also operate Copthorne Hokianga, have constructed 10 new villas on a site at the back of the hotel to provide private luxury five star accommodation.
Set in the breath-taking location of the Hokianga harbour, TH Heads offers intimacy, luxury and comfort layered with Manaakitanga, the Lloyd’s personal touch of Maori hospitality.
Shane says the design of each villa focuses on modern simplicity with an emphasis on natural wood and clean lines.
There is a fi replace, large bathroom with double monsoon showers and a luxurious bath, super king bed and walk in wardrobe.
Each villa comes complete with its own outdoor hot tub and shower, deck, private courtyard and tastefully landscaped gardens.
Designed for couples, small incentive groups and private retreats, TH Heads was opened for business in mid-December with a blessing by local Maori elders.
Both long-term locals, Shane and Philippa have operated the Copthorne Hokianga for around 15 years and are passionate about the local region.
While Northland is renowned for being busy with tourists over the summer months, they hope TH Heads will encourage people to visit Northland year round and explore all it has to offer including cycle trails, guided walks, cafes and art galleries.
Shane says the signature 4-hour night tour of Waipoua forest, with the oldest and largest kauri trees in the world, is one of two New Zealand and 82 global Lonely Planet Code Green Experiences of a Lifetime. “Northland is really a place you can discover,” says Shane.
“It’s much more than beautiful beaches and there are lots of things to do all year here. TH Heads is about building and future proofing Hokianga and bringing money and employment to the local economy.”
Shane says guests feel right at home due to the family run nature of the business.
Both Shane and Phillipa are actively involved and their son Max is the manager of theCopthorne Hokianga.
He says Millennium Hotels, which owns the Copthorne brand, has been excited about the development of TH Heads due to its unique offering.
Guests at TH Heads will enjoy the use of the high quality Bryers Room restaurant and Sands Bar at Copthorne Hokianga. They can either choose to dine in or have meals delivered to their villa.
The Copthorne Hokianga offers a range of double rooms with and without sea views and also five two-bedroom beach front apartments.
“TH Heads is the perfect base to explore the untouched lures of the Hokianga harbour, an area known as the birthplace of the nation and famous for its magnificent kauri trees, forests, golden beaches, rich history and vast array of scenic walking tracks.
“It’s ideal for couples or small groups wanting to reconnect or rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. We’re very excited about this new offering for the local region.”
