Business South – August 2021

Liki Udam Aug 8

In the latest edition of Business South, Otago Polytechnic is embracing the future with a new $31.7 million Trades Training Centre set to open on its Dunedin campus next year. The development is a dream come true for the institute’s management and staff and will provide a stimulating learning environment for students. We have a look at the thriving Marlborough region and some of the businesses that call it home. The wine industry is a major player in the region, with production house WineWorks Marlborough putting through a staggering 72 million bottles a year at its hi-tech Blenheim operation. And niche Timaru business, the South Island Organ Company – which has just turned 50 – is home to a passionate team of pipe organ builders and restorers who lovingly craft, repair and bring to life beautiful instruments of national and international, cultural and historic importance.
