Business South – November 2021

In the latest edition of Business South, we take a look at the stunning new heritage centre Te Puka O Te Waka on Rakiura Stewart Island, which now houses the island’s many precious cultural treasures. This beautiful new facility owes much to the efforts of local volunteers over many years who worked tirelessly to make this project a reality.

NZ Wineries new $15.2m Kendrick Rd winery is welcome news for Marlborough’s expanding Sauvignon Blanc sector, and will significantly boost processing capacity starting from next year’s vintage.

The family-owned company, Outpost Buildings is making a name for itself with its range of tough kitset buildings aimed at the rural market. The company manufactures more than 30 product lines which include horse shelters, sheds, livestock pens and shelters, hen houses, sleepouts, cabins and studios from its factories in Timaru and Silverdale, north of Auckland.

And Christchurch-based firm Design Energy says many New Zealand SME’s could make huge gains by more fully utilising automation in their operations, increasing efficiency and productivity.
