2024 Dairy Trainee Of The Year for Otago / Southland Shannon Butler, worked for a
decade in aged care before falling in love with a Southland dairy farmer and his lifestyle.
Dohne are true dual-purpose sheep, with ewes producing a wonderful wool clip averaging 21
micron; which is close to Merino – as Duncan and Amy Scott of Ballandean have discovered.
Tracey Hurst of Elgin View Valais Blacknose says she recently purchased a full Valais ewe,
and is looking forward to full-bred lambs in the spring.
