In the latest edition of Business Rural South, sitting at the top of the Rangitata Gorge in Canterbury, Erewhon Station’s fine wool clip is keeping the New Zealand Merino Company well stocked. Balmoral Merino Stud has started individually testing its stud animals for wool length and strength, which stud owners say could generate improved returns. Robin Oakley’s family has been tilling their land in Canterbury for five generations and he’s proud to be carrying on the tradition by growing the Oakley Premium Fresh Vegetables operation.
