Automation engineer Richard Dean and Motueka sheep and beef farmer Ray McCrostie have teamed up to develop a water analysis device with huge potential. The device analyses water before it flows into the creek, recorded on a memory stick, and then uploaded for analysis to Waikato University. They are among many South Islanders who are doing amazing things in the farming space and being showcased in this issue. Meanwhile, Richard and Jess Dawkins have been named Marlborough Sheep and Beef Farmers of the Year and speak about their farming journey.
