Living the dream at Patumahoe Hill – Searle Group

“Being Kiwi-owned means we have a vested interest in outcomes for the futures of generations. We look to be here for the long haul.”

Company director, Anthony Searle.

Franklin-based land developer Searle Group Limited is proud to be part of the equation that helps Kiwis to get into their own homes, says company director Anthony Searle.

“As a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company we have a vested interest in being part of the process that helps Kiwis into home ownership.
Later, when they are ready to take the next step, we are there to help them move up the property ladder into their next dream home.”

The company’s most recent development Patumahoe Hill, which is still under construction, has proved incredibly popular with all 76 sections already sold.
Anthony says part of the reason was the generous sized sections that ranged from 720sqm to over 2000sqm.

Stage one of Patumahoe Hill is expected to be completed around May, with the balance of stage two expected to be completed around July.

“It’s fair to say you can still get your quarter acre Kiwi dream and after lockdown people value even more having their own piece of land.

“People also value the location and amenities near Patumahoe Hill.

“Amenities include two local rural schools, a childcare centre, café, bakery, hair salons, Four Square and restaurant.”

Patumahoe sees Searle Group investing in the small yet growing Franklin region.

Anthony says that Searle Group is the largest land developer working in the Patumahoe area and has been for some years.

Searle Group is also undertaking a second subdivision in the Patumahoe area, which will deliver an additional 31 lots to the market resulting in Searle Group providing over 300 residential lots to the Patumahoe area to date. Civil works for the 31 lot subdivision have already started.

This second project has not been released to the market yet but demand to date already exceeds the availability of these additional sections, says Anthony.
Searle Group is a family based 100% New Zealand owned private company, which was started by Anthony’s parents Stuart and Vivien in 1971.

Searle Group specialises in residential property development and property investment, purchasing greenfield sites then developing them into successful subdivisions is the company’s focus.

Anthony says that Searle Group seeks opportunities in niche areas with a unique aspect and point of difference whether it is the location, a view ,or something else that ultimately attracts purchasers to have trust and confidence projects.

Sections are sold to either private buyers or builders; so key build partners are an important part of the process.

Searle Group has also offered house and land packages through a variety of build partners in the subdivisions.

Searle Group has several other developments underway or recently completed including Chatterton River Estate at Hanmer Springs.

The 57 residential lot subdivision backs onto a nearby riverbed with reserves and walking tracks and is within walking distance of the Hanmer township. Section sizes range from around 600-1500 square metres.

Covenants are in place to protect people’s investment. Searle Group is offering a small number of house and land packages to the market in this subdivision for people desiring a turnkey solution.

Anthony says that Searle Group has also recently sold out its 21 lifestyle lot subdivision in Te Awamutu and sold its last residential sections in Te Kauwhata.

To replace these properties Searle Group is working on the planning of a large lifestyle subdivision in Pukekohe East, which is in an area identified for significant future growth.

An approximately 90-lot residential subdivision in Coromandel Township as well as a 68 lot subdivision on Pukekohe Hill offering stunning views of the greater Auckland area are currently awaiting council and regulatory approvals.

Searle Group is a family-owned business, Stuart is still actively involved as a director and Anthony’s sister Leanne is the Group’s finance manager.

The Group employs a small dedicated team and utilises the services of a trusted group of consultants and contractors as required.

“We are a small company, and we take great pride in what we produce.

“Being Kiwi-owned means we have a vested interest in outcomes for the futures of generations. We look to be here for the long haul.”
