Affordable homes focus for company
Affordable homes are the focus for Auckland based project management company Chancellor Construction.
The company is keen to help first home buyers into a house through the Kiwibuild scheme and is part of a panel of prequalified contractors for Housing New Zealand.
Chancellor Construction was started in 2012 by Wayne Zeng, whose qualifications include a bachelor of commerce and MBA from New Zealand universities and civil engineering qualifications from his home country of China.
Wayne says he was attracted to the construction industry, which he sees as dynamic and exciting.
“We are the people that build the future and transform clients’ dreams into reality. This responsibility is hugely rewarding and makes this industry the one that I want to be a part of for the rest of my life. I believe that our team offers solid experience, knowledge, integrity, commitment and enthusiasm to our clients,” he says.
Wayne says that three key points mark points of difference for the company. Firstly it offers fixed contract pricing leaving no room for surprises.
Secondly efficiency, with team planning sessions for every project a key contributing factor to this, and thirdly reliable project delivery.
“We make sure all projects are delivered from beginning to end. We double check and triple check that everything is built accordingly to our agreed terms and contract. We aim to have longterm relationship with our clients,” says Wayne.
Chancellor Construction employs a team of around 10 staff plus contractors as required.
Wayne says that Chancellor Construction benefits from a reliable trade network and uses only high quality, trustworthy building suppliers and contractors.
Being a member of the Register Master Builders Association, Chancellor Construction has all its buildings accredited by the Association, plus can offer the Master Builders 10 Year Guarantee.
Chancellor Construction works on a variety of projects including spec houses, design build projects, subdivisions, terrace townhouses and high-rise apartments.
A current project is six four bedroom two level townhouses and nine three bedroom single level townhouses in the McLennan development.
The homes are being offered as house and land packages. The four bedroom townhouses are 155 square metres set on an approximately 200 square metre section.
They are clad in cedar weatherboard, Linea weatherboard and brick. Offering contemporary styling, the homes have a designer kitchen with engineered stone benchtop, laminated timber flooring in the main living areas and offer good indoor-outdoor living.
The three bedroom homes are 110 square metres and offer open plan living space connecting to a good sized outdoor area.
Clad in a combination of James Hardier and shiplap weatherbord the homes have a contemporary feel. Wayne says McLennan is a great community with large open shared spaces encouraging interaction between residents.
With a variety of looks and styles of homes the subdivision has been well planned, he says, with massive appeal to first home buyers. Chancellor Construction plans to keep focusing on bringing affordable homes that are much needed in the Auckland market.
“It’s really great to see the excitement on people’s faces when they see their new home and really inspires us to keep doing what we’re doing.”
