Second stage onstream at Kotata
Whangarei’s newest suburb in the heart of the city, Kotata Heights, now has sections available in its second stage of development, set along the top ridge of Kotata Heights and priced from $190,000.
Centrally located in the heart of Whangarei, Kotata Heights is situated within walking distance of Whangarei’s main shopping precincts and is close to schools, bus routes, Whangarei Hospital, NorthTec, and State Highway One. The prime residential area is elevated, sunny, with harbour and farmland views.
Stage One was completed at the end of 2017 and has a number of homes being built or already completed, including show homes from Jennian Homes and Generation Homes.
BDX Group is the main contractor for the development, and director Clare Davies-Colley says just like in Stage One, half of Stage Two’s 34 sites have been pre-sold before titles were available.
“There is high demand for more housing development in Whangarei, and Kotata Heights provides a high quality, centrally located, and affordable option for investors, people moving to Whangarei, and current Whangarei residents looking to upgrade,” she says.
“ Whangarei’s economic development has had unprecedented growth over the past five years, and there is a high degree of optimism for this to continue. This is a great time to invest in Whangarei and enjoy a truly balance lifestyle.”
She says Kotata Heights offers buyers a rare opportunity to have a brand new, affordable home, close to the town centre in a semi rural environment.
“Kotata Heights has something to offer everyone,” she says. “It is suitable for young families and people who work in town.
“There are a range of housing options from smaller sections to larger sections.”
Stage Two sections are available to purchase through partner building companies as house and land packages or individually directly to buyers. Lots are covenanted to ensure residents enjoy a neighbourhood which is well maintained and well presented.
Homes will be constructed of new materials and be a minimum of 100sqm plus garage. Homes are to be owner-occupied for a minimum of three years.
Development at Kotata Heights will continue for another three to five years, with six stages and more than 200 sections once completed. Stages Three and Four are set to be constructed this coming summer.
“It won’t be really intensifi ed, and many properties will share a boundary with some green space,” Clare says.
“There is also a council reserve running along the creek across the bottom of Kotata Heights, and Anzac Park at the top.”
Whangarei city is New Zealand’s warmest city, nestled between forest clad hills at the heart of the beautiful Whangarei Harbour.
The Whangarei District offers spectacular beaches and walks, great coffee and food, golf, club, fishing, boutique markets, gorgeous galleries, and fascinating museums. Nowhere in the Whangarei District is more than 40 kilometres from the spectacular coastline.
